Bridge Cosmetic Dentistry in Raleigh, Cary, Holly Springs NC.

When a tooth is missing, it can cause a chain reaction of problems. Surrounding teeth may shift, causing stress to your jaw joint (TMJ) when you chew. It is also much harder to clean teeth that have shifted, so harmful tarter can build up, which can cause cavities and gum disease.

A bridge is one way to replace that missing tooth and regain proper function. A bridge uses teeth on either side of the space as support.

Just like a crown, the teeth are prepared and an impression is taken. The dental lab will use the impression to fabricate the bridge. The bridge is all one piece and consists of the crowns that fit on the adjacent teeth and the fake tooth filling the space.

A bridge can be made out of the same materials as a crown and will be determined by the patient and the dentist at the first appointment.
